What tools to take an a bike tour is a difficult decision. It depends on how remote the tour is; but also what you would consider a road side repair.
A broken spoke isnt too common if youre not over loaded or riding rough terrain . But the tools required to fix them seem to dominate most of the tool kit.
Casette key, adjustable whench, chain whip, spoke key.
There are a few tour specific cassette tools which are light but look certain to damage your bikes dropouts
Anyway 5 minutes with a dremel and a chain splitter and I have still perfectly functioning chain whip and saved 150g.

Starting to remember what touring feels like; the slow ups with spinning feet- sitting in the saddle and wondering if as the road disappears out of sight around the bend, whether it flattens out or even starts to descend ... it never does.
Eventually a plateau is reached: there's no triumph at conquering the mountain. Mother nature has left you just enough energy to think you can keep going ... your reward ;the endless acceleration on the way down and feeling of terror as even a mild corner become a tobogan run. She playfully ruffles your hair as you enjoy the moment. feel the air rushing over your skin and sun on your face.
You're at the bottom again.
